Know the signs
When a window needs glass work
These are the openings we repair. The frame stays when it can still hold the glass.
- A cracked or broken pane
- A draft coming from the glass
- Fog or haze between the panes
- Single-pane glass that needs a new pane
- An opening that calls for tempered, laminated, or Low-E glass
Which job is it
Repair vs. full window replacement
Window repair here is new glass in the opening you already have: a single pane cut to your dimensions, or a new insulated unit in the existing frame. You don't typically need to replace the entire window frame. If the frame is damaged or will not hold glass, we will say so at the assessment; fog between the panes is a failed seal and is handled as foggy window repair.
Common questions
Questions about window repair
Plain answers about cracked, drafty, and foggy glass.
What kinds of window glass do you replace?
Single-pane glass in older homes, cut to your exact dimensions and installed the same day. Double-pane insulated units, which restore energy efficiency, reduce noise, and eliminate drafts without replacing the whole frame. Specialty glass as well: tempered, laminated, Low-E, and other energy-efficient options.
Can you keep my window frame?
For an insulated unit, yes. We replace the glass unit and leave the frame in place. You don't typically need a full window replacement unless the frame itself will not hold glass. We look at the window and tell you which job it is.
Do you come to the house?
Yes. Mobile service is part of this work, and for many residential jobs we come to your home. We assess the glass, measure it, and install the new pane. Most jobs are completed in a single visit. Call (972) 669-0951 or request a quote online. Estimates are free.
What is the difference between a crack and a foggy window?
A crack or break is damaged glass, and the pane is replaced. Fog you cannot wipe off from either side is moisture inside a failed insulated unit. We replace that sealed unit and keep the frame. That repair is described on our foggy window page.
Is the installation covered by your warranty?
Window replacements are covered against workmanship defects for the lifetime of the installation in your home. The warranty lasts for as long as you own the property. It covers the original customer and does not transfer if you sell. It does not cover new damage from accidents, vandalism, or severe weather. Details are on the warranty page.
